December was a fun and busy month. This is what we were up to...

We put up our Christmas tree. It is a fake one and so initially the kids were very upset to see that it was bushy on top with no branches beneath, but soon they found out it looked great when all put together :). We had fun decorating it as a family. The kids had fun painting their own ornaments too! We went to Disney on Ice Toy Story 3, the kids enjoyed that (although by the end of the night they had had enough, it was a late night!). And later in the month we went to the Museum.

Lucy had a "Holiday" program at her school, they don't really say Christmas (which really makes me sad) they sang a song about Decorating a tree, eating a gingerbread cookie, and "We Wish you a Happy Holiday". Christ is still OUR main focus of "Christmas" though and on our way home from school she was singing it and I informed her of the correct words "We wish you a Merry Christmas". She had fun in her program though and we were able to go and watch her, she did wear a halo for it though so that at least brings angels into it!!! ;) Lucy got to be on vacation for a couple weeks from school which was nice. She has a hard time waking up in the mornings to go to school, her school starts at 8am so Cory has to leave to take her by 7:45. She has no problem waking really early on Sat/Sun though! ;) She also made a gingerbread house at school that she was proud of, but not enough to keep it around - she started eating it first thing in the car on the way home from school! ha ha! She also had fun making her own Christmas cards with the nativity on them.

Logan loves kidstitute (institute we do during the week at our branch for moms and their kids) and playing with friends from church. He is really into and good at puzzles and superheroes of course! He loves dressing up using the most random things and saying he is some kind of superhero or transformer ;). He cracks me up! He loved the snow too and loved helping daddy shovel - we had a lot of snow!

Lincoln started sitting up by himself and pulling himself up to stand while holding onto furniture. he turned 8 months old on Christmas day and is cute as ever :). Lincoln started crawling on his hands and knees (last month is was mostly army crawl) he is a determined little bugger and wants everything! Not toys though, only what he can't have of course! Remotes, pens, garbage!

In our Branch we attended a Christmas Party, we helped set-up an activity to put together food boxes for those in need (everything needed to have a nice Christmas dinner), helped put together Secret Santa in the Branch, and did the 12 days of Christmas for our Branch President and his wife (as a Relief Society). I am the Relief Society President and Cory is the Sunday School President in our Branch.

Christmas Eve we hung stockings, made cookies for Santa, read some Christmas stories, watched the Nativity, and opened a gift (slippers for everyone and new PJs for the kids). The next morning we opened presents of course and ate "Christmas cereal", a Dennis family tradition. The kids got some costumes from Santa and dressed up throughout the day and played in the snow. I, Candice, got sick around noon and was in bed the rest of the evening and next day with Mastitis (fever and chills). At least I got to enjoy Christmas Eve and morning!!! That night cory cooked a ham, potatoes, and red cabbage for dinner (I was sick in bed). It tasted delicious. Later that night, however, Lucy threw up, an hour later Logan threw up, then Cory threw up. So I was cleaning bed sheets, etc. and glad that I didn't throw up. At 3/4 am I threw up! Bad ham I guess! Cory still won't eat ham! Our first and last Christmas ham? ha ha! A bunch of sickies on Christmas! I was so thankful we got to celebrate the best parts though!

For New Years Eve we had a Family Movie Night, the kids LOVE those! We watched "Where the Red Fern Grows" a classic. They loved it, Lucy was on the edge of her seat and was about to cry when sad parts came up. We didn't stay up until midnight, but the kids were fine with that. We had some friends come over the next day, so that was really nice - they are some good friends that moved and it was so good to see them again.
